What We've Done

Real Impact, Real People, Measurable Results!

Since our launch in 2021, PASS has:

Provided more than 400 full ride college scholarships and living allowance to students and refugees in South Sudan, Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.

Prioritized young women, who face the greatest barriers to higher education

Maintained an operating model where donations go directly to students and universities

Ensured students maintain a minimum 2.8 GPA to stay on track and graduate

Developed a nonprofit model where overhead and team building is prioritized so our organization can scale and fundraise better.

Our students are enrolled in public and private universities across the country, studying to become the future professionals South Sudan urgently needs. From engineers to teachers, from health workers to social advocates, our scholars are already shaping a different tomorrow.

Our Model Works

More than 95% of your support goes directly to the students

You will be hard-pressed to find any other registered IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a “direct support percentage” that is as high as ours! We are unique among other nonprofit organizations in the US because we operate a private overhead fund that pays stipends to our volunteers!

Impact the greater community, and their place in the world

The communities in which our students live out their professional careers will benefit from their expertise. Every graduate becomes a multiplier, uplifting their families and serving their communities.

College education is amazingly inexpensive in South Sudan

$1,050 supports one student for an entire year (tuition = $450 + $600 for annual living expenses). That means that your US dollars are getting more “bang per buck” in South Sudan than they will for almost any other purpose for which you use your money!

Your gift will go far

South Sudan is ranked in 2024 as the poorest country in the world. [Global Finance Magazine and other sources]. 82% of South Sudanese live in extreme poverty, so your contribution, no matter how big or small, will have an immense impact.

Your gift will keep on giving for a lifetime!

Your support is not a temporary fix like so many other charitable services. Our students will benefit throughout their lives from your support which will enable them to earn a college degree.

Make a connection

If you choose, you can experience the gratification of corresponding with your student and learn how you are directly impacting their life! [You may also choose to not correspond and remain anonymous]

You can change a life

Our college scholarship program is virtually the ONLY program available for South Sudanese youth. We have many students who are PASS scholarship qualified but who will ONLY go to college if someone decides to sponsor them.

Student Highlights

Akuch Aken Wek

I am grateful to PASS for changing my life and I am requesting PASS leadership to continue supporting the most disadvantaged people in South Sudan.

I graduated from Ayii University in Juba with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing.  I would not have gone to college without the PASS tuition scholarship and support with my living expenses during college. Gratefully, I have secured a job as a Health, Safety, and Environment Assistant.

I am eternally grateful for all your kind support! Please share my writing with all our donors. Thank you all and you have made a great impact in our lives here in South Sudan!

PASS has greatly changed my life. Before I got this scholarship from PASS, I struggled paying for my tuition fees and books in the University. I am sometimes suspended from attending lectures when I am demanded over half payment of my tuition fees. After PASS came in, my tuition fees were cleared at once and this gave me a room to concentrate on my studies. I have been borrowing books in my first and second year at university. When I got funding from PASS, I would buy the books which I own and this has helped me graduate with first class. 8 months after I graduated, I got a job with South Sudan Red Cross and now getting a monthly gross pay of 1,293 USD. This has totally changed my life and that of my family.

PASS Scholarships cover tuition, fees, books and living allowance for up to four years.
