Education. Access. Opportunity.

PASS supports South Sudanese youth, especially young women, to rise above extreme poverty through education, access, and opportunity.

We are a nonprofit organization in Minnesota, United States dedicated to providing full university scholarships, living allowances and wrap-around educational support to South Sudanese youth — with young women at the center of our mission. We focus on students from conflict-affected communities in South Sudan and those in refugee settlements across East Africa such as Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia.

The Global Goals We Support

Our work is directly aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to ensure measurable and lasting impact.

SDG 4: Quality Education
PASS USA advances Sustainable Development Goal 4 by directly funding university access for conflict-affected South Sudanese youth and refugees. Through full ride college scholarships, along with living allowances that support basic needs, PASS USA removes the financial barriers that keep capable students from enrolling in and completing higher education.

SDG 5: Gender Equality
In South Sudan, when family resources allow only one child to attend school, sons are often chosen while daughters are denied the opportunity. PASS USA aligns with SDG 5 by intentionally prioritizing women in our Scholarship Program this 2025 and onwards. We offer women a higher living allowance stipend and provide special mentorship coordination, recognizing that education is a critical pathway to agency and long-term stability for girls affected by conflict.

Our New Goal: Shifting the Future by Educating Girls.

In 2025 and onwards, PASS USA will award more scholarships to girls than boys, on a mission to intentionally close the gender gap in higher education for South Sudanese girls and young women. By prioritizing girls who have historically been denied educational opportunities, we are empowering South Sudan’s next generation of women leaders and helping transform families, communities, and the nation.
